After scoring seven recently Peterborough hit another five on Saturday to cruise to a comfortable 5-0 away win over Staines.

Peterborough were already home and dry by midway through the first half as two goals from Craig Mackail-Smith, with one from Aaron McLean sandwiched in-between saw them already 3-0 up against their hosts at half time. Mackail-Smith completed his hat trick early in the second half, scoring his fourth soon after as Staines’ cup dreams ended for another year.

Peterborough travel to struggling Notts County on Tuesday night knowing that a victory could move them into the automatic promotion places in League Two.
