Battling away for eighty-three minutes with ten men to beat local rivals Northampton Town, was a great achievement.

It`s a solid indication of just how resolute a team we`ve become and just how tight-knit our squad is, an all for one and one for all mentality that should serve us well in the run in.

After the game the Posh boss, Darren Ferguson, was almost purring with pride with regards to his sides performance, remarking,

‘I am running out of good things to say about my players. To play virtually all of a local derby with 10 men and come out victorious is a great achievement. It was a long 10 minutes at the end but we pulled through.”

‘There are no complaints from us about the red card and we lost some composure for a while after that but we got a goal and showed tremendous discipline to defend our lead in the second half.”

‘We have some serious momentum going and everyone is focused on hanging on to second place.’

If we are to hang onto second place we need MK Dons to slip up with at least one of their games in hand but, then again, strange things happen in football!
