Hopes of contesting a play-off place come April / May now seem a long way off for Posh.

Instead we`re realistically looking at a relegation dog-fight as we struggle to make an impact in Championship football.

One win from thirteen fixtures is serious cause for concern, if this form continues we`ll be back in League One come next August, something that is definitely not in the development plans.

It`s something Darren Ferguson has touched on in his post match interview on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire when he comments,

‘We’re under pressure, we’re in a dog-fight, there’s no doubt about that. “

‘We’re working as hard as we can, but football is all about results and I fully understand that.’

“This is nowhere near good enough. We’ve played 13 games and we’ve got one win, but I take the responsibility for that.”

With the shock sacking of Gareth Southgate, overnight, it shows just what sort of pressure managers operate under, as it`s been hinted before, it is a results game and ours have not been good enough.

Continuing, Ferguson lamented the fact that our poor defending and concentration continues to haunt us when he remnarks,

‘Goals do change games and we need to learn that it’s not all over as soon as you concede.”

‘If you go behind in a game you’ve got to keep your concentration and keep your discipline and we find it hard to do that which disappoints me.’

It`s been a problem that had dogged us all season and it`s a problem we need to address otherwise it could well be our downfall.
