Posh – Ferguson Aiming to Bounce Back!

Although we`ve previously moaned about the fact that we had to play ten games in thirty three days, a situation that has already seen us play two winning one and losing one, it does have its bonus points.

Playing up at Prenton Park, so soon after suffering a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Yeovil, gives us the chance to immediately bounce back.

Indeed, Darren Ferguson is actively looking forward to his side returning to the fray and sees no reason why they can`t bounce back as they did when Huddersfield recently upset our apple-cart.

Speaking to the local media Darren had this to say about Saturday, about the defeat and about the trip to take on a Tanmere side we`ve already beaten once at Prenton Park this season,

‘The players are down, I am disappointed and so is the chairman because none of us like losing.”

‘We all have one aim and that’s to win another promotion so it’s important that we bounce back straight away at Tranmere.”

‘I have a great bunch of lads in the dressing room and it’s because they hate losing so much that they tend to respond well to a defeat.’

I’m expecting the same again tomorrow. It’s ideal that we have another match so quickly as we need to put this performance behind us.”

‘I can’t fault the lads for the effort they put in, but we just didn’t get going early enough. We have to realise that every game at this level is tough.”

Indeed it is, didn`t we not say so only last week when it was suggested five of our next six games, in February, are against opposition from the lower end of the table.

Take nothing for granted should be our motto!
