Any fears we may have about losing Darren Ferguson to Wigan could be easing.

With the Wigan managerial chair vacant, following the defection of Steve Bruce to Sunderland, the name of Darren was in the frame.

Thankfully, Darren has dropped back in the pecking order as Roberto Martinez, of Swansea, looks to be their preferred choice.

But, don`t` count your chickens yet as although one tabloid implies the job is his another fears that a ‘jumped up` transfer fee of £2 million could scupper the deal.

Fingers crossed though!

  • Must be getting a bit tedious this – every vacancy his name is in the frame. Good luck in the Champ L – with or without him.
