One letter in the Sunday tabloids intrigued me!

It offered the name of Darren Ferguson as a potential replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson when the candid Scot finally decides to call it a day.

Whilst it may seem an improbable solution to a problem United are well aware of, it does show the high stock in which Darren is held.

After achieving back-to-back promotions, the media eye is firmly on Darren and Posh need to do something to tie him down for a few more years.

Already QPR have been linked with a move to him, therefore it was gratifying to hear that Darren is likely to be offered a new contract before the start of the 2009-2010 season.

A smart move from those that run the club may I say!
