Posh – Four More Wins?

I stumbled across an interesting posting on the internet this morning.

A lively chap had done some researching and had traced back the number of points that has previously been good enough to claim second place and the automatic promotion that subsequently goes with it.

Apparently in the last five seasons the following number of points has been sufficient to clinch second place – 82, 85, 79, 86 and 83.

Now Posh are currently sat on 75 points and another four wins would leave us with 87 points, a total in excess of those previously mentioned.

Looking at our fixtures, you`d seriously hope that a promotion chasing team would be able to see off the likes of Cheltenham, Swindon and Stockport at London Road.

If so that`d leave us with just one more victory to eek out!

Am I on the right lines or is it dangerous to dabble in statistics?

Mind you if we finished on 87 points and didn`t get automatic promotion I wouldn`t half be miffed!
