In hindsight it`s always easier to see where things could have been done better.

Perhaps, back in May, we got a little carried away with affairs and perhaps we should have taken a more rational view!

So what am I getting at you may be thinking!

Well, with Craig Mackail-Smith injured it`s highlighted just how short we are of cover up front.

For the Barnsley game the substitutes bench had a distinctly defensive look about, a fact picked up on by Darren Ferguson who is quoted as having remarked,

“I had four defenders on the bench for Barnsley and it`s something we`re trying to work on.”

“I haven`t got enough alternatives up front, but it`s a situation we have been trying hard to rectify.”

Don`t anyone dare mention that classic expression – p*ss poor planning????.
