Transfer speculation continues to haunt Posh!

After Darragh MacAnthony issued an emphatic not for sale warning last week the media continue to fill column inches with the suggestion that the likes of Joe Lewis and George Boyd could be sold.

This weekend rumours that Boyd would move to Glasgow and Lewis to Portsmouth were printed in the tabloids. Thankfully, it appears ot be nothing more than gossip with Barry Fry remarking,

‘There is plenty of interest in our fringe players, but I haven’t received a single inquiry for any of our stars.”

‘I’ve seen the stories about Boyd and Lewis, but they would be mad to even want to move on. There is no point in Joe going on to become an understudy somewhere else, it would just stop his progress.”

‘The team have climbed two divisions in two seasons and Championship football should satisfy them all for now. Mind you the £5 million price tag I keep putting on them is probably keeping Premier League clubs away.’

It sounds like that was a wise move Barry!
