Following on from our narrow loss, at Swansea, Jim Gannon took time out, after the match, to speak out.

His thoughts concentrated, mainly, on two items, the penalty and our future.

Talking about the penalty, Jim had this to say,

“I didn`t think it was a penalty. I thought their player fell because he was crowded out.”

“But I don`t make the decisions, the referee does. What I think won`t change the fact he awarded a penalty and they scored from it.”

Personally, I thought it was a difficult one to call an din cases like this I always like to put the boot on the other foot and ask would I have screamed for it if it was one of our players going down!

Continuing, with a theme that he`s touché don before, Jim spoke about our future, commenting,

“We`re a work in progress. It`s a massive project. I`ve only been at Peterborough four weeks. I said from day one I wanted to bring back some pride and credibility. I`m not giving any false hope.”

“Whether we stay up or not, this team has got to improve.”

“We`re taking each game as it comes, I`m an optimist but at the same time I`m a realist.”

I think we`re all man enough to accept that this season is, more than likely, going to end in disappointment but it would be nice to see a few decent performances between now and the end of the season, would it not!
