Despite indicating otherwise, Darren Ferguson has made a signing and a damn good one if the accolades are anything to go by.

Today the club have announced that Ben, who is rated by many as the hottest talent in non-league football, has signed for Posh.

The twenty-year old has put pen to paper on a three and a half year contract with the club after successfully undertaking a medical.

The fee remains undisclosed but the lad comes with a glowing tribute from his previous manager, the ex-West Ham legend, Alan Devonshire, who had this to say,

“Ben came down to us in the summer and he’s taken everything on board that we’ve tried to teach him. He’s improved every month and I am delighted for him. I have been in the Non-League for 11 years and Ben is the best talent I have seen in that time.

A glowing tribute, as for the Posh managerial team, Darren Ferguson had this to say,

“I know I have said repeatedly over the last seven days that I wouldn’t be bringing anyone into the club during the transfer window and I know this sounds like I am contradicting myself, but I have always said that if young players become available that we feel that we can develop then we would look to do something.”

“This signing follows the criteria that we have at the football club about bringing in young, hungry players. The chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, and myself believe in this policy and we feel that we can develop Ben. He is one that has been on the radar for a little while, we have watched him closely and believe he will bring something different.”

“He is very good technically, is a good size and I am looking forward to working with him. He is one for the future, he is a good age and we have done our homework, he comes from a good family and has the right character to be successful and fit in with our squad’
