Posh – Great Ticket Deal Offer?

I guess Posh have met us, the supporters, halfway with regards to ticket prices next season.

On one hand they`ve frozen the price of season tickets but on the other they`ve increased, by £2, the price of match day tickets.

So, in all brutality, if you`re a season ticket holder and have displayed faith in putting all your money up front, you`ve quite rightly been rewarded.

Also, if you`ve gone on a match by match basis this season, the temptation, especially if we get into the Championship, is to splash out on a season ticket and get a great deal.

However, if we look at the prices on offer next season for individual matches, £22 for seats and £17 to stand up, I`ll hazard a guess, (and please correct me if I`m wrong) that we`re nowhere near the dearest in the division.

Speaking about the situation, a statement released by the club reads,

“Following a recent Board Meeting it has been decided to freeze all Season Ticket prices for the season 2009-2010. There will however be a Matchday-Only price rise for the new season of £2 on existing entry costs. Under 10’s will retain ‘Free of Charge’ status.

Chief Executive Bob Symns explained the reasons behind the season ticket freeze, the third year in a row that Darragh MacAnthony and the Board of Directors have not raised prices.

Symns said: ‘We hope the above initiative will reflect our concern for the current financial climate whilst helping in a small way to assist with the vastly increased expenditure in maintaining and improving the playing squad and stadium facilities.

‘This price structure will operate in whichever league we find ourselves next season, with our aspiration firmly pointed at the Championship. We will also once again offer our fans the option of attaining credit support for the purchase of their tickets from Zebra Finance which proved to be exceptionally successful last year.’

So there you have it, everyone concerned, especially with the possibility of buying your season ticket on the never-never, should be congratulated.
