With the transfer window open, Darlington were, we`re led to believe, a little miffed that Posh ended the loan spell of Liam Hatch.

Hatch, who had started to score on a regular basis for the north-east club, was recalled back to London Road after being on loan for five months.

However, the Darlington boss hasn`t given up hope of signing Liam when he remarked to the local paper, the Darlington Gazette,

‘We would like to get Liam back here from Peterborough, but there could be other signings out of the blue.”

Could there be a right old game of poker going on behind the scenes?
