Posh – Johnson Remains Cagey!

With Joe Lewis missing from the starting eleven yesterday, through injury, did we get a glimpse of our keeper for next season.

Young James McKeown steeped into the breach and performed admirably as Blackpool threatened to over run us early on.

Indeed, if Joe Lewis were to leave this summer, for better things, I doubt if Gary Johnson would have any qualms about entrusting the role to McKeown on a permanent basis.

However, as we`ve said before, we do anticipate an exodus from London Road this summer although, in a post match interview yesterday after the 18th single goal defeat of the season, Johnson remained cagey about who would be going and who would be staying, simply remarking,

“Three players have agreed to sign already and I expect four more to follow suit. I`m sure we`ll be competitive”

How about putting our minds at ease Gary and naming a few names!

Personally I think Lewis has stalled a bit this year and I think it would make sense for him to have another season with POSH. He’s a fine keeper but needs to find the consistency again.
