I know we shouldn`t call them it but it strikes a poetic chord! Besides we don`t really mean it.

So, two days after the dozen were placed on the list, we have an update on where some of their destinies may lie.

According to the local media, Posh have received substantial bids for Liam Hatch (£175,000) and Scott Rendell (£100,000). However, the destination of the players has yet to be announced.

There is also an offer of £25,000 on the table for Alfie Potter with substantial bids (no fee mentioned) having also been received for Rene Howe and Shane Blackett.

In fact, despite the financial crisis the country finds itself in, Barry Fry is extremely optimistic of recouping more than was laid out for the players, remarking to the local media,

‘There is a lot of interest in the available players and I’m more than confident we can get more in for them than we paid.”

Now that would be sound business sense!
