Okay so, on paper, we may have looked to have made our chances of getting into the third round that much harder.

And up at Prenton Park they`re already crowing about the possibility of another cup run but Joe Lewis, our keeper, who kept us in the tie with three stunning saves on Saturday, at London Road, believes the tie is still their for us to progress through.

Speaking after the match to the local media, Joe spoke about the game and our prospects of winning away from home when he remarked,

‘The whole team knows we didn’t play well at all, but we are still in the competition and that’s the important thing.”

‘We looked a little bit nervous in possession in the first half and that’s really strange considering we’ve gone so many games without losing.”

‘But we have a lot of quality in the side and I am confident we will put on a good performance at their place.”

‘I did think we were going out of the cup when their lad had that late chance, but I read what he was going to do and managed to pull off a block.”

‘I’ve been happy with my form for a few weeks now and I’m getting back to my best.”

‘I didn’t feel comfortable at the start of the season, but things are going brilliantly now.”

‘We wanted to win the tie at the first attempt, but we can still win up there. At least we’re still in it – it would have been no fun watching the third round draw with no interest in it.”

‘The FA Cup gives players at our level a rare chance to play against the best teams in the country and against some of the world’s best players so it’s a great competition to be in.”

Whilst accepting we hadn`t played well, Joe was quick to praise the defence in front of him though, remarking,

‘We defended well again and Craig Morgan and Gaby Zakuani were excellent.”

‘They are great to play behind and we all seem to be getting on really well.”

With Tranmere having cut ticket prices, there could be a fair contingent from Posh traveling up to cheer our lads on!
