Posh – Lewis on NOT being Bottom!

On Saturday, with Joe Lewis in one goal and Scott Loach in the other, it was suggested that the future of English goalkeeping was on show.

Both keepers played well but, without being biased, we`d suggest it was our Joe who had the better game.

Now whether Joe can capitalise on the recent indecision shown as to who our national number one is ahead of the World Cup, I`m not sure.

However, Mark Cooper recently said that it would take an enormous bid for Posh to part with the keeper.

Lewis, speaking to Radio Cambridgeshire earlier this week, spoke about the importance of not being bottom at Christmas and the almost inevitable relegation if you are, remarking,

“Psychologically it’s massive because to be bottom at Christmas is an omen for a lot of teams.

‘To be off the bottom is great and hopefully that will kick-start our season now.’

So do we, but we do have a tough Christmas programme and its imperative that the squad use the win on Saturday as a launch-pad for better things to come.
