Posh – Lewis to Succeed James at Pompey!

Despite having achieved promotion to the Championship there is still an inherent danger that our players may be plucked from London Road by those who perform in the Premier League, or worse still Scotland.

Already this week we`ve seen a hands-off warning issued to Celtic over George Boyd and now it appears something similar is needed to prevent Premier League club, Portsmouth, from snaffling our U21 keeper, Joe Lewis.

The south coast club are, according to the News of the World, keeping tabs on Lewis with a view to him replacing David James.

James is 38 and no spring chicken and once again committed a keeping howler to gift Arsenal the lead yesterday.

With a fee of £2.5 million being mentioned, it would represent a sizeable profit on the fee we paid Norwich City but you have to ask yourself, if we harbour ambitions of reaching the Premier League one day, should we not be hanging onto our prize assets?
