Posh – Lifeline for Torres?

Image for Posh – Lifeline for Torres?

The news that Sergio Torres was amongst the twelve players to be released resulted in a few e-mails from Wycombe Wanderers supporters wanting to know why!

Apparently Torres looked top-drawer at Adams Park but, in our opinion, flattered to deceive at London Road.

It appears that Darren Ferguson, as he mentions in an interview with the local media, was also disappointed that Torres failed to fully blossom when he remarked,

‘I also feel for Sergio. I fought hard to get him here as I rate him very highly, but for one reason and another it just never happened for him.”

‘His operation pre-season and his subsequent injury didn’t help, but I couldn’t see him playing much in the Championship so I’ve reluctantly made him available.”

Fair comment but Darren has been good enough to point out that if there are no-takers for Torres then the fact that he has a year left on his London Road contract may see a change in fortunes.
