Peterborough United forward David Ball has departed the club for pastures new and become part of the Cod Army!

22-year-old Ball has signed a three year deal with Fleetwood Town and links up with Jon Parkin to form what could be a formidable strikeforce in League Two.

The former Manchester City youngster joined Posh in January 2011 but failed to make much of an impact.

He scored twelve goals in 45 appearances for Posh, although the majority of those appearances came from the substitutes bench. His last goal for Posh came in the final game of the season when he scored the equaliser against Derby in a game that finished 1-1.

Ball had two seperate loan spells at Rochdale last season scoring four goals in 15 appearances.

Although touted by Posh boss Darren Ferguson as possibly the best finisher at the club, many believe he lacked the other attributes needed to be successful higher up the leagues.

He will join Fleetwood for an undisclosed fee subject to a medical.

Vital Posh wishes him well at his new club.
