Posh – Mclean a Leeds Target?

With, as far as we know, there being no concrete bids for Aaron Mclean, one of the red-top tabloids has generated an interesting rumour.

With the Leeds United striker, Jermaine Beckford, handing in a transfer request and probably destined for higher things, the Yorkshire club are now casting their net to source a replacement striker.

Now according to this particular red-top their eyes are focusing on London Road and a possible swoop for Aaron Mclean.

A fee of £2 million is quoted, which is far below what Posh have advertised as wanting, plus, any move to the Elland Road club would mean Aaron dropping back into League One, albeit probably on a temporary basis as Leeds look destined for promotion this season.

If the rumour is true, we`d suggest it gives Aaron a conundrum.

Does he immediately jump ship and join a club whose ambitions clearly are aimed towards the top flight, or does he sit back and wait until the end of January looms to see if a Premier League club steps in with a suitable bid for him.

Anyway, if a fee of£2 million were offered the above could become irrelevant if Posh insist on holding out for between £3-4 million!

Your thoughts would be most welcome!
