Posh – Morgan on the Welsh Ambition

With England, barring disaster next Wednesday, set to cement their place at the 2010 South Africa World Cup, one of our players is harboring ambitions of his own country, Wales, repeating that feat.

If that were to happen, the player in question, Craig Morgan, would be the first Posh player to ever appear in a World Cup Finals and would give us all the impetus to rush home from work and cheer Wales on, well perhaps not all of us!

Apparently, great faith is put in the growing number of youngsters that are coming through to play for the Welsh side, youngsters like Ramsey, Collison, Bale, Hennessy etc. etc.

Speaking to the local media about the ambition his country has, Craig had this to say,

‘It will always be difficult for a country like ours to reach the finals of a major competition, but there is no doubt that we have some great young players coming through.

‘The manager is pinning his faith on young players and it could work out well for us in the future. If we continue to develop as we have been doing, we might shock a few teams in the future.

‘It’s an honour playing any match for Wales, playing in the World Cup Finals for my country would be a dream come true.’

Whilst accepting that it would be great to see Wales at a World Cup Finals, I`m probably not alone in suggesting it probably still remains highly unlikely or is that the Englishman in me talking?
