As the festive season closes in on us and the transfer window prepares to open, it would appear that Mark Cooper has already identified a striker he`d like to add to his squad.

With Aaron Mclean seemingly exiting, although Barry Fry has re-iterated that he`ll not be sold on the cheap, Cooper has targeted the Walsall forward, Troy Deeney as a suitable replacement.

Deeney, a twenty-one year old, has scored eight times for Walsall this season but Posh, if the red-top publishing the rumour is correct, face opposition from Preston North End and Coventry City!

We`ll see how this one develops!
