There is kind of good news on the Craig Mackail-Smith front.

After being sent to Old Trafford for a scan to be carried out on his niggling groin injury it now appears that the striker, who has topped our scoring charts for the last two seasons, will be fit enough to start the Championship season.

However, the good news has been sort of nullified by reports filtering in that Craig reported ill this morning, with Darren Ferguson`s take on it in the local press being.

‘We were worried that Craig would miss the start of the season, but his scan was clear.”

“It’s now just a case of him trying different exercises and just getting on with the job of getting fit.”

‘Ironically he reported ill yesterday, but he should be ready to start training in a couple of days which is great news.”

Three cheers from all of us at Vital Posh!
