The aftermath of the parting of the ways, albeit by mutual consent continues to generate lots of column inches in the papers.

Unfortunately, a parting of the ways that seemed to be amicable is in danger of developing into a bun-fight.

In the twenty-four hours since the split was announced, both camps have made comments which the other has objected to.

Barry Fry, never short of an opinion or two, has openly suggested that Darren Ferguson had his own reasons for leaving, commenting,

“I do, I firmly believe Darren already has another job to go to.”

“He signed a four year contract in the summer. If I had my way we would have kept him to that as then, when a club came in the front door rather than the back door, we`d have received money.”

“Instead, Darren got a pay-off and I`d be very surprised if he didn`t start work at another club very soon. He will get a job at a big club soon and he will do very well.”

Words that have seen Darren Ferguson immediately retort back,

“I`ve always been totally honest with everyone at the club from the day I started there.”

“I have never been tapped up and I have not got another job lined up.”

“I`m going on holiday for 10 days which suggests any claim that I will be working elsewhere within a week or so is 100 per cent untrue.”

Here at Vital Posh we`re still bemused by the whole string of events, we sometimes feel we`ve woken up in the middle of a bad dream!
