Posh – On My Head My Son!

It`s a statistic I was totally unaware of!

Last season our leading scorer, Craig Mackail-Smith, only scored one of his plethora of goals with his head, that being against Brighton.

Therefore, we have to ask is it a little strange that his first goal of the current season, scored in our second Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, came from his head?

Speaking to journalists after the game, it was something that Craig commented on when he revealed,

“I hardly ever score with my head but it was a brilliant cross and I couldn`t miss as long as I got my head to it first.”

“It`s great to get off the mark for the season. The chairman wants me to score 25 goals again – which will obviously be hard but at least I`m off and running now.”

Personally, I think 25 is a bit of a steep target but if Craig can score 20 and Aaron Mclean chip in with a similar amount we`ll not be doing to bad come next May!
