Posh – Only 6,674?

I`ll hold my hands up! I`m as guilty as the rest of them!

Finding myself somewhat financially embarrassed I chose to give last night a miss, after all there`s only so far my miniscule salary will stretch.

It seems that I wasn`t the only one who didn`t make the effort with only a mere 6,674 turning up and that included the away support that travelled down from Yorkshire.

On Saturday, in excess of 10,000 were crammed into London Road, although it has to be said there were quite a few from Coventry who brought their largest away following of the season.

Last season, when Posh were racing towards promotion, the attendances were on the up, it seems that our season long suffering has ebbed away at the fervour of the Posh support and some have chosen to stay away.

Now they can`t all be as financially embarrassed as me, so I have to ask whether that old adage about a successful team attracting more support than a struggling one, is perfectly true.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
