Posh – Our Most Important Decision?

Football can be such a cruel game.

Seemingly, back-to-back promotions and the accolade as the best young manager in the game were not enough to convince Darragh MacAnthony to persevere with Darren Ferguson.

Not even having won 73 of his 145 games was enough to stop the axe from being swung as Darren heads for the exit door at London Road.

Officially, the news has yet to be confirmed but rumours are in circulation that this is merely due to the fact that a settlement fee, on the recently signed four year contract, is still to be agreed.

So where do Posh go from here?

Routed to the foot of the Championship, we now have a two week break to assess where to go from here, who to appoint and which direction the club should seek to move in.

If our position in the Championship is to be consolidated then this decision ranks up there with the biggest we`ve ever had to make.

Is there enough money in the kitty to pay for an experienced guy to take the helm to help us turn the season around or will Darragh plump for an up and coming young manager who could give us the spark needed to thrive?

Obviously, the Posh support are split between the two theories and there`s no doubt that everyone has their own ideas.

Personally, I`d be tempted to get someone in who knows the Championship, who knows all about what`s needed to turn things around and who has the personality to motivate the players around him.

The only problem being that I can`t think of anyone available who fits the bill, can you?
