Posh – Party Poopers!

Saturday could be the most surreal of days!

If results go as we suspect we could be witnessing two differing sets of emotions.

On one side of the ground, with a smattering of Geordies in the other three parts, will be those who know their time in the Championship will have lasted one season and with a few bottles of champagne popping, they`ll have returned to that promised land known as the Premier League.

Elsewhere, in the three quarters of the ground with a smattering of Geordies, there`ll be tears running down the cheeks as those who realise they too are leaving the Championship, after one season, accept that it`ll be a return to League One for us.

It`s not an ideal scenario but one that could well happen if Newcastle win and Nottingham Forest lose to Bristol City and results, in the lower regions, of the table go against us.

So has Jim Gannon discussed the possibility, apparently not when he`s quoted as saying,

“We haven’t mentioned relegation this week to be honest, we are just focussed on playing Newcastle United.”

‘The lads need to restore a bit of pride and we need to stop the rot because the last couple of games have ended in defeat.”

‘Newcastle deserve promotion to the Premier League but they have had one or two wobbles away from home and we will give it a go.’

Now that`s the spirit, let`s ruin the Geordie party lads!
