Posh – Reading Selection Headache!

Posh journey across middle England for a fascinating encounter with Reading this Saturday afternoon!

Already relegated, Posh have nothing but pride to play for against a Reading side that have been transformed in recent weeks.

Languishing near the relegation places, the Berkshire side replaced Brendan Rodgers with Brian McDermott and almost managed to pull off the impossible and sneak into the play-off places after also enjoying a marvelous run in the FA Cup.

Speaking about Reading, and the progress they`ve made, Gary Johnson is quoted as having remarked,

“Reading are the form team in this league, especially at home. They`re open and free-flowing and still have a bit of a chance of making the play-offs.”

It promises to be a hard game for Posh and although memories are fresh regarding the clash at London Road that saw us come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2; Gary Johnson will do well to get a repeat result this time around.

Indeed, the squad appears to be a little threadbare with injuries and players returning off loan affecting the numbers available.

As far as we can work out the following will not be available due to injury – Chris Whelpdale, Aaron Mclean, Izale McLeod, Liam Dickinson and Nathan Koranteng.

No longer with us are Reuben Reid and Kerrea Gilbert with the former having returned to West Brom and the latter to Arsenal.

Hopefully, despite the circumstances, Gary Johnson can inspire the lads to pull something out of the fire.
