Earlier this month we reported on the fact that Scott Rendell had returned to Cambridge United.

We also reported that Posh were not prepared to let him go on the cheap and that they were looking for a fee of £120,000 for a permanent transfer, roughly what he cost us.

Well it appears that Cambridge are still deadly keen on taking Rendell on a permanent basis with their manager Gary Brabin remarking.

‘The ball is rolling in terms of negotiations with Scott.”

‘When January comes and it’s D-Day we’ll be fighting tooth and nail to keep him at the club.’

‘He desperately wants to stay, we’re desperate to keep him, he’s enjoying his football again.’

Well, with a return of four goals in six games we`d suggest Cambridge United put up or shut up especially as two league clubs are also reportedly interested.
