The lack of transfer action at London Road, as we`ve already discussed in an article today, is testament to the faith Darren Ferguson has in his players.

Two points from fifteen may have seen many a manager push the panic button.

Our club captain, speaking to the local media, has accepted that the players need to repay that faith and he`s pledged to do his bit remarking,

‘The gaffer has always shown a lot of faith in us and he’s done it again by not rushing out and buying new players.”

‘He has always backed us and the players now have to repay that loyalty by picking up some better results to get us climbing up that table.”

‘And I’m sure we will. We believe in ourselves as well and we just need that one win to get us going in the right direction again. We’ve been competitive in every match so far and it can only be a matter of time before we turn some good performances into more points.”

‘Every match is tough at this level, but we are enjoying the challenge and we are confident we can turn things round pretty quickly.’

I suppose we can harp on about getting that crucial break all day long but my feeling is that break will come at a time when we least expect it.

It could be a freak goal, an offside goal that`s given or even a fluky penalty. You all know as well as I do that football can be a funny old game and the slightest little piece of luck can kick-start a whole new ball game!
