We all know that footballers, when interviewed, have the tendency to come up with some real corkers.
Interviews are littered with over the moon or as sick as a parrot statements, therefore it`s always pleasing to read an interview, attributed to a player that is pleasant on the eye.
When Tommy Rowe signed for us, in the summer, he was hailed as an exciting talent but fortune has conspired to deprive him of a permanent place in the starting eleven.
With the furore over the possible departure of Darren Ferguson making headlines in some tabloids, it would have been easy for Tommy to feel a little put out, especially as Darren was the one who signed him.
But, Rowe was quick to dispel any truth relating to the Ferguson rumours and speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, has remarked,
“With got a good relationship with the gaffer and he keeps us in the loop.”
“There are no secrets because this is the sort of club where the players know what`s going on.”
Perhaps it would have been an idea to give that errant tabloid hack an insight into what was really going on.
Turning to his first team opportunities and a recent spell at left back, Tommy commented,
“It`s not always nice to be in a side which isn`t winning, but I came to this club to play football and I`m enjoying it.”
“Hopefully when we do get it right I`ll be holding my position down and be part of a winning side.”
true, it`s not nice supporting a losing side but you can bet your last dollar we`ll not give up on them and when they turn it around we`ll all be smiling won`t we!
