Posh – Rowe Watch!

It turns out that Darren Ferguson and Posh were watching Tommy Rowe ever since he impressed them during our win over Stockport County at London Road.

In fact it seems that Rowe was aware that a deal might be on the offering immediately after that match and he has commented, after signing,

‘I found out that Peterborough were interested after the game between the two clubs towards the end of the season.”

‘Jim Gannon (Stockport manager) spoke to me on the journey home and said one or two people at Peterborough had expressed an interest in me.”

‘I went home with a smile on my face, but didn’t hear anything for a while, so I am delighted to have finally sorted it out.”

I wonder if at any time he thought the deal might not materialise?

However, after signing Rowe is pretty confident that Darren Ferguson can further develop his game when he comments,

‘Darren Ferguson is highly regarded and I know he will help me improve my game. Peterborough is definitely the right club for me to be at, especially at this time in my career.”

But where will left footed Rowe fit into our side considering that George Boyd is a nailed on cert to occupy the left flank next season,

‘I can play a number of positions, left-back, right-back, on either wing, or as a left-sided striker and I think that is important. The manager hasn’t defined a position for me as yet, but it is a big step up for me and I hope to continue to progress.”

Rowe, continues in his interview with the local media, by talking up our chances in ‘The Championship` next season, remarking,

‘I am pretty sure the club will do well in the Championship next season. The manager spoke passionately about the club, where he wants to go and I am excited to be a part of it.’

I`m starting to like this lad already and I haven`t even seen him pull on a Posh shirt in anger yet!
