Posh – Saturday`s Ovation?

Saturday, and the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Derby County, could very well be classified as one of those games you`ll remember but for all the wrong reasons.

Obviously the sending-offs did nothing to enhance our chances of winning but credit where credit is due, Mark Cooper and the nine remaining on their pitch gave more than a decent display and, despite the score line, looked better than the opposition.

Now normally, after such a defeat, sides tend to just slope away down the tunnel hoping to get to the dressing room, get changed and get away from the scene but on Saturday things were different.

Cooper purposely kept the side out on the pitch so they could accept the applause they were rightly due, with Cooper remarking.

“I kept them on the pitch afterwards and told them to walk off with their chins up. I told them they were an absolute credit to their club.”

“Even when we down to nine we played good football. They deserved to get clapped off.”

“We were the best team, it`s not often you get beat 3-0 and get a standing ovation.”

I wonder what`ll happen when London Road finally witnesses a thumping Posh victory?
