Peterborough United have today announced the signing of Dulwich Hamlet midfielder, Erhun Oztumer, as of 1st July. He can play on either wing but can also play just behind the strikers, showing versatility and creativity that Posh desperately need.

Oztumer

At the age of 5, he was scouted by QPR, Arsenal, West Ham and Charlton. At the age of 8, he was offered a place at the academy of all of the listed teams, but chose Charlton as it was closest to his home. He was successful in Charlton’s youth team, representing them between Under 9 and Under 16’s. However, he was released from the club at 16 because he was ‘too small’. He moved on to Fisher Athletic, before being scouted for Turkish Premier League club, Manisaspor. It was Manisaspor where he enjoyed a lot of success, playing for two seasons in a vital role in the team. Following his success at Manisaspor, Erhun moved onto a much larger Turkish side, Sivasspor, where he signed his first professional contract.

But Erhun became homesick and wanted to return to London. He moved to Dulwich Hamlet, where he quickly became a fan favourite. But he has now made the step up to Peterborough United.

below you can see one of Oztumer’s goals, and a classy one at that:
