Darren Ferguson has made no secret of the fact that he`s willing to look into the world of non-league football to source the stars of tomorrow.

Those already doing their utmost to push Posh into the Championship, namely, George Boyd, Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean, have all tasted life at both ends of the scale.

All three have made the grade and all three are looking onwards and upwards, as the saying goes.

However, you get the feeling that Ben Wright, our recent signing, may not be Fergie`s last raid into non-league football when he remarks,

“There are some good players in non-league. I`d say we`ve got the better ones.”

“What you get from non-league players is the work ethic. Players want to prove a point.”

My only fear is that as we go higher up the league ladder, making that crucial transition becomes harder and harder.

But in Darren we trust!
