The League fixtures for the 2018/19 season were finally released this morning with Posh receiving a home fixture on the opening day of the season and the final day. It certainly makes a change from traveling to Rochdale on the opening day of the season. There again, Rochdale is the first away match for Posh in the League!

Tom Nichols’ Bristol Rovers side are the first visitors to the ABAX Stadium with relegated Championship side Burton Albion being the final visitors in the regular League season. It could turn out to be a tough final two home fixtures as former Premiership side Sunderland are the visitors prior to the Brewers on Easter Monday!

There are obviously some downsides to the fixture list namely an away trip to the Black Cats on a Tuesday night (2nd October) and an away fixture on Boxing Day. At least the Boxing Day match is straight up the A1 even if it is over 100 miles away at Barnsley!

Trips to Blackpool and Fleetwood Town are just six days apart, which will be good for anyone wanting to spend a week in that part of the country!! The latter match is on Easter Friday.

Other noteable fixtures include:

11th August – Rochdale (A)
18th August – Luton Town (H)
24th November – Coventry City (A)
1st January – Scunthorpe United (H)

You can see the full fixture list on the Official Posh website.
