Posh – Strange Times!

These are strange times are they not?

Since the arrival of Jim Gannon our fortunes have improved.

On the home front we`re, once again, invincible having taken maximum points from fixtures against Queens Park Rangers and Ipswich Town, two teams with an illustrious past.

But away from home things are as bad as ever with the side unable to get any return at all although it has to be said that the performances have been a little better.

No doubt, in the grand scheme of things, six points from the twelve available during his short reign so far would be deemed to be good.

Sadly though these are desperate times!

Posh are so far adrift of safety that Gannon himself has suggested it`d take form of title winning status to even give us a good chance of survival.

So where do Posh go from here, apart from back to League One?

Does the side need a complete re-hash?

Who would you keep and who would you sell?

Will be rue the short term tenure of Mark Cooper for years to come?

Were his signings ever going to provide Posh with reward for the money paid?

My biggest fear is that this season in the Championship has set us back a season or two. We`re now at the stage whereby we need to assess the playing staff.

It`s no use returning to League One and thinking that the majority of the players who got us up are still here and they`ll do it again. If that`s the philosophy then we`re forever going to be a yo-yo club flirting between the two divisions, too good for one but not good enough for the other.

Or is that just our natural place on the ladder?

Like I said, strange times!
