Posh – Thanks Darragh!

Despite winning back-to-back promotions, Posh declared a loss of £2.55 million in the financial year ending May 2009.

This figure was declared at the Annual General Meeting last Tuesday whereby it was also revealed that the club currently owes, in loans, almost £8 million to Darragh MacAnthony.

Whether this is the complete scenario of our financial status I`m not sure but I`d hazard a guess we`ve a lot to thank Darragh for especially as the man has also revealed that he would be prepared to put more money into the club if it needed it.

Bravo Mr MacAnthony we say! We dread to think where we would be without you!

Without Darragh McAnthony I’d predict Peterborough to be in League Two, but with a sounder financial future. Any debt, even if it’s soft debt, is still dangerous.

Can the owner afford to lose that money he’s owed though?
