Posh – The New Kid on the Block!

Today is the start of a new era at London Road.

After the events of last week, a week that saw Darren Ferguson part company with Peterborough United, we stand on a precipice.

In the weeks to come, the appointment of Mark Cooper will either be heralded as a masterstroke as we cruise up the Championship table or it will be viewed as the act that cast us adrift from our hopes of flourishing in the second tier of English football.

Whereas the appointment of a new manager often rekindles the spirit of a side and provides an upturn in form, I doubt whether anyone could, in this case, state that will be the case.

Already, since the appointment was made, we`ve voiced our displeasure. Here at Vital Posh we remain unconvinced as to whether Cooper is the right man for the job.

Nevertheless, today is his first day as the manager of Peterborough Football Club, having finished his Kettering duties with a 2-0 win over Cambridge United on Saturday, and what we will say is that we`re all in this together.

If we are to flourish then everyone has to get 100% behind the new man and to that end we`ll quash any talk of Cooper not being the right man for the job from this moment on and instead we`ll offer Mark Cooper our full support and sincerely hope that he does turn out to be the man for the job and that Darragh MacAnthony and Barry Fry got it exactly right last week.

Good luck Mark from all at Vital Posh!
