Posh return to action on Tuesday night with a 2nd round Carling Cup clash against quite near-neighbours, Ipswich Town.

It promises to be an intriguing clash with both teams having identical records in the Championship this season, namely, one point from twelve and you`d imagine that both Roy Keane and Darren Ferguson will be looking towards the fixture as a means of boosting morale ahead of a further round of Championship matches this weekend.

However, the Carling Cup is hardly the most illustrious of competitions and attendances have, in recent years, dropped off alarmingly. Therefore, in order to boost the attendance on Tuesday evening, Posh have lowered prices with ticket prices being £17 for adults (seating), £13 adults (terrace), £10 senior citizens and £5 for children under 16.

In cutting costs Darragh MacAnthony hopes to see a figure approaching 10,000 in London Road remarking,

‘The League Cup game is massive for us as a club as a good win will send us on our way and also bring in some revenue should we get a good team in the next round.”

‘It would be nice to see 10,000 come out for this one as the prices are pretty cheap compared to other cup games and I know the lads could really do with the support and a great atmosphere on the night.’

Fine sentiments Darragh but unless Ipswich bring a couple of thousand we reckon we`ll be lucky to get more than 7,000!
