Ahead of our much awaited FA Cup third round clash with Spurs, their manager, Harry Redknapp, has had a few words of wisdom for Mark Cooper.

Redknapp, as we all know, has been around the managerial block and has carved out a decent reputation, often in circumstances that many would fail.

Speaking about the lack of young English managers in English football, especially in the top two leagues, Redknapp has remarked,

“It`s getting harder for young managers to make an impression A lot of chairman are so impatient they want success yesterday.”

“Your first big appointment is the one that you get judged on. If you go into a job with a chance of achieving something as a young manager and do well, then you`re up and running.”

“But if it all goes wrong and you don`t crack that first job?.you`re finished.”

Just what Mark Cooper would want to hear with us firmly planted at the bottom of the Championship table!

  • Is Harry suggesting that a relegation on your cv, in your fist season, is a kick in the nether regions as far as your career prospects go?
