Posh – Three NAMES Amongst the 12?

Yesterday we speculated that Posh, after receiving a tip off from a respected source, were to transfer list several players.

We suspected that those on the fringe of the first team would be sacrificed in order for signings to be made to give the squad better definition and up it in class a little but what didn`t expect was to delve into the internet today and find that the number of players transfer-listed represented something of a cull!

Twelve, that`s right twelve, players, have been slapped on the transfer list as Posh try to steamroller through the Championship chasing a Premier League dream. Amongst those are three high profile names in Sergio Torres, Chris Westwood and Shane Blackett.

Looking at those three in turn, you have to feel that out of the three Chris Westwood was probably living on borrowed time after going out on loan to Cheltenham Town last season, whereas Sergio Torres has, in my opinion, flattered to deceive this season. However, the third, Shane Blackett, could possibly consider himself hard done by!

Blackett has had a mixed season missing a large chunk due to two shoulder dislocations, he was also unfortunate enough to score two own goals during the season. However, his versatility had, I thought, ear-marked down as an ideal squad member able to slot in anywhere on the left side of defence.

But then again what do I know, it`s not me whose led Posh to back-to-back promotions is it?
