Rumours are circling in Ireland that Sligo Rovers captain has received two offers from teams in England and Scotland.

Peterborough United have contacted Ryan about coming over for a trial from Monday [14th November]. The midfielder has also received an offer from Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.

The 26-year-old Irishman started his professional career at Sunderland, making two substitute appearances in the Premiership in 2003. Having failed to make the grade at Sunderland, he spent a season at Scunthorpe and a season at Boston United. When Boston received a double relegation, Ryan moved on again, this time to Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp where he made eight appearances.

Ryan drifted back to his native Ireland in 2008 where he signed for Sligo Rovers. He struggled to get a regular place in the side for his first year as he struggled with fitness but after a string of highly impressive displays in the successful 2010 season, Ryan won the 2010 PFAI Player of the Year award. He was named as club captain for the 2011 season but is now out of contract.
