Posh v Colchester – Manager Speak!

Saturday`s fixture, between Posh and Colchester, is an intriguing one.

Ahead of the clash, both managers have spoken and in this article we`ll endeavour to focus on those words.

Out of politeness, we`ll give first stab to Paul Lambert the Colchester manager.

With recent games ending in losses and no goals scored, Lambert has focussed on his striker force, remarking,

“There has been no end product in our last couple of matches.”

“We had lots of the ball last Saturday. In fact, you can have too much of the ball sometimes! But that doesn’t mean to say that I’m going to suddenly start playing a more direct style.”

“That’s not the way that I like to play the game, and we don’t have the footballers to do that. We just have to be more productive in the final third.”

Posh fans will no doubt be buoyed by those words especially considering we`ve managed two clean sheets in our last two games and that the recent positive news relating to the Zakuani signing will have boosted confidence as well.

Lambert continues by commenting on us and also his sides confidence, commenting,

“Peterborough are doing well, but our away form has been excellent (seven league and cup wins). We haven’t let our heads drop with any negative thoughts.

Looking at those stats, perhaps it`s time to move on to our own gaffer and hear what Darren Ferguson has to say.

Darren, as has often been the case this season, is urging his side not to be complacent, remarking,

‘We’ve just to keep looking upwards and hopefully we’ll break into that top two.”

‘We’ve just got to worry about ourselves, we can’t be worried about what other teams are doing.”

‘We’ve seen last week that teams at the top will drop points, we’ve just got to make sure it’s not us.’

Like I said earlier, this has got all the makings of a classic fixture.

Come on Posh!
