After a thrilling extra time win over Tranmere Rovers, in the FA Cup, in midweek, Posh return to League One action with a tasty fixture against Oldham Athletic.

I say tasty because Oldham are in the upper half of the table and quite capable of causing an upset and ending our long unbeaten run if we don`t give them the respect they deserve.

Ahead of the fixture, Darren Ferguson is hoping to welcome back Tom Williams and Gabriel Zakuani after both picked up injuries recently.

Sadly, Russell Martin is a doubt and will require a fitness test before a decision will be made about his groin problem.

However, definitely available again, after missing the Tranmere trip due to being cup-tied, is new signing Andrew Crofts.

For the visitors Sean Gregan is a doubt after picking up a facial injury in a fixture at Brighton but the `Latics` are hoping to welcome back Darren Byfield an dDanny Whittaker.

Ahead of the game Posh manager, Darren Ferguson, has spoken about the fixture and those coming over the festive period commenting,

‘John Sheridan’s got them playing the way he played, it will be an entertaining game. “

‘Our fitness levels are good, we’ve got a lot of young players and I’ve got no concerns about the games over Christmas.”

‘We’ve got a real good backbone to the team, we’ve got a good mentality of winning and that was one thing that had to be brought to the team’

In recent games we look to have regained that fluidity we showed earlier in the season and our conservative opinion is that Posh will get the three points available on Saturday with an emphatic win, possibly 3-1!
