Posh v Swindon Preview

I guess, in a way, the game itself is going to be a bit of an anti-climax.

Whatever the final result, we`re going to finish second although it would be nice if we could put a margin between ourselves and whoever finishes third.

Off the pitch it promises to quite an occasion, it`ll be a celebratory mood and there is every possibility that with the shackles removed, by gaining promotion, Posh will produce a sparkling display and put Swindon to the sword.

On the other hand, it could all fall flat on the pitch, with the hard work done the drive to grind out a result may well be missing.

Whatever the scenario, Danny Wilson, the Swindon boss has promised that his side will make a game of it remarking,

“It will be a party atmosphere at Peterborough but the commitment of the game might surprise one or two people.”

“We`ve got one or two areas we want to fine tune and make decisions as to whether we keep players and I expect to go there and win the game. I`m not taking anything lightly and I don`t want to go there with a few balloons popping around our ears.”

As for the Posh side, it`s difficult to predict who`ll start, apart from the injured duo of Jamie Day and Tom Williams, Darren Ferguson has a full squad to choose from.

Should he play those who are responsible for our promotion or should he give a few fringe players a sample of life in the fast lane?

As for Swindon, they’ll be without Gordon Greer and Hal Robson-Kanu, both of whom have retrned off loan but they will be able to call upon the services of Owain Tudur Jones and Michael Timlin.

Up front, Simon Cox looks to be the biggest danger.

Come on Posh, let’s finish with a win!

At least its not the dreaed playoffs, good fun if you’re in them but automatic promotion feels a lot better.
