With football aghast at how one of our English clubs has been hammered by FIFA, it appears that Posh, despite all our protestations did try and make a few more signings during the transfer window.

However, it also appears that common sense prevailed and Barry Fry and company refused to be hijacked when it came to wage demands.

Speaking to the local media, Barry enlightens us in his normal magical way remarking,

“We were quoted wages of £10,000, £12,000 and £15,000 per week for players but we’re not going to pay that sort of money to anyone.’

‘If we did we’d have 20 players knocking on the door asking for pay rises and quite rightly as they are the ones that have taken us into the Championship.”

‘Instead the manager wants to keep faith with his squad and fair play to him for that.”

‘We can always use the loan market should our circumstances change.’

Fair play to the club! I`m sure you`ll agree with me when I say financial prudence us of the utmost importance if we wish to still be around in ten or so years and not staring down a financial barrel up to our knees in debt!
