Posh – Where Are You All?

In my post match report for the Walsall game I moaned about the fact that the attendance was 5000 down on the figure for the recent FA Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Surely, if we`re going for one of those elusive automatic promotion places London Road should be a hive of spectator activity.

It`s a point Darren Ferguson made in his post match interview when he talked about how far the club has come since he took over and how, he feels, his team deserve more support, when he remarks,

“The fans have to remember what they were watching two years ago. The club was an absolute shambles. Players were eating KFC and getting changed in their cars.”

“What we have achieved is incredible and we deserve better support.”

I guess that whilst the team has moved onwards and upwards other things have stood still. Despite the ‘credit crunch` I can`t help feeling there are seeds of doubt creeping into Darren`s mind about the community not being suited to higher grades of football.

Let`s hope I`m wrong and let`s hope the attendance figures hit, at least, the 7500 mark for the visit of MK Dons on Tuesday night!
